Attitude

Determined2Heal Tips:

Life is all about attitude.  Your approach to your new future relies completely on attitude.  There are two different approaches when dealing with this new lifestyle.  You can be angry with the world and wallow in your misery, or you can decide that you are going to have a great future regardless of whether you are paralyzed or not.  This type of attitude allows you to be a productive member of society.  The most important thing you can do is to focus on what you’re good at and what makes you happy.  It is very important to not dwell on what you can’t do, but to focus on what you can do.  It takes a lot of strength to keep positive all the time but remember, you’re not in this alone.  There are many great minds and fellow members of the SCI world focused on getting us better.

Poetic Quotes from Josh Basile:

  • "The body does not control the mind, the mind controls the body"

  • "Hope is the drug that keeps the steady"

  • "Different, but not ruined"

  • "The cure is coming, we just have to meet it halfway"

  • "As a member of the SCI world, I have come to the realization that both able-bodied and disabled have the choice to be either physically paralyzed or mentally paralyzed"

  • "Moving forward is the fastest way to success"

  • As Christopher Reeve would say it, "Go Forward"
