Restorative Therapies
Restorative therapies refer to activity based exercises that works to neurologically reeducate an injured or dysfunctional central nervous system. The goal of this method of treatment is to restore function. Current studies are being conducted on spinal injury, cerebral palsy, stroke, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, and brain trauma. Any type of therapy or exercise that involves stimulating muscles or nerves is thought to stimulate the central pattern generators in the spinal cord.
